Nick Sturgeon- Host and Show Creator
Nick oversees the Security Operations Center (SOC) for an Indiana based cybersecurity firm. In addition, he is responsible for growing the SOC Analysts, developing processes to improve efficiency, and building focused career paths for SOC personnel. Nick is a 2003 graduate of Indiana State University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems with a focus on networking. Nick is a 2015 graduate of Purdue University where he received a Master of Science in Cyber Forensics. Nick is also a graduate of the 67th Indiana State Police (ISP) Recruit Academy.
After graduating from the ISP Academy, Nick spent the next eight years serving with the Indiana State Police. Nick’s last assignment was as the Assistant Commander of the Information Technology Section. He was directly responsible for managing the Telecommunications Unit, Systems and Programing Unit and the Systems Security and Audit Unit. While serving with ISP Nick received specialized training in Digital Media Recovery, Digital Investigations and was an ILEA certified primary instructor.
In July 2015, Nick was giving the opportunity by the Indiana Office of Technology to lead the Indiana Information Sharing and Analysis Center (IN-ISAC) as manager and served as the first Manager of State’s Security Operations Center (SOC). Additionally, Nick is an Adjunct Instructor with a large University in Texas where he is developing and teaching Information Security Courses for State, Local, Tribal and Territorial government officials.
